Rockschool music qualifications are tailor-made for the contemporary musician. Ranging from introductory grades to advanced levels of study, RSL Awards' graded music exams ensure hard work is rewarded. For over 30 years we have been producing materials to help people learn musical instruments and assess their progress.

ABOUT UKULELE

The ukulele is
a small, four-stringed musical instrument that originated in Hawaii, with its roots in Portuguese instruments.
It's a member of the guitar family and is known for its bright, cheerful sound.
Ukuleles are typically played by strumming or plucking the strings with fingers or a pick

VARIETY OF UKULELE

Soprano

This is the smallest and most traditional ukulele, known for its bright and punchy sound, according to Bajaao.
It's often used for traditional Hawaiian music.

Concert

Slightly larger than the soprano, the concert ukulele offers a brighter sound and is often considered a good choice for beginners

Tenor

Larger than the concert, the tenor ukulele has a deeper tone and is a popular choice for various musical genres

Baritone

The largest of the standard ukuleles, the baritone is known for its warmer, deeper sound, often described as similar to a nylon-stringed guitar.
It also has a different tuning compared to the other sizes.
